#ASAE17 Toronto

WE’RE SO GLAD YOU’RE HERE IN OUR COUNTRY! HERE’S HOW TO MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR TORONTO EXPERIENCE.

We use Canadian dollars – The gold coin with the Loon on it is worth $1 and is called a “loonie,” the silver one with the gold center is worth $2 and is called a “toonie”. Also, we’re in the process of phasing out the penny; don’t be alarmed if your change has been rounded up or down to the nearest $0.05.

CURRENTLY $1 USD = $1.27 CANADIAN... THAT $13 CAB RIDE WAS ACTUALLY ONLY $10 US.

The best way to get from the airport to downtown is the UP Express from Pearson to Union Station on Front Street. It costs $12 (a cab will be pushing $60) and will put you within walking distance of all of the conference hotels.

NOTE: DO NOT GET OFF AT THE BLOOR STOP – WAIT UNTIL THE END OF THE LINE.

Find the CN Tower.

If you get lost... look up! The Metro Toronto Convention Centre is basically right at its base on Front Street. To help with directions, Lake Ontario is to the South.

Need a ride?

We have Uber, not Lyft.

Chill.

Temperature is in Celsius. Multiply it by 9, divide by 5 and then add 32 to get the temperature in Fahrenheit...

OR JUST SWITCH YOUR PHONE SETTINGS.

What The French?

We have some different spelling; you don’t need to have your eyes checked. French is our other official language, so you might see it on some signs.
